No pics.. was checking sights at 100 yds & 200 yds, finishing off at 25 yds to know about where 25 yd zero should be when these 2 came in on the 75 yd trail. Both about 50 lbs, boar lung shot & sow hit in mid section at edge of brush... only shot I had on her. Both headed back into the thickest area so I didn’t follow. The 4 piglets had picked up this boar I think. I believe they were waiting on the all clear from one of these 2. Has them on cam with a slightly larger boar, maybe cams will show in another week. Didn’t expect to see any thing today while shooting.

Unusual, I would think, that they would be around while you were shooting. Animals do strange things, sometimes, lol.

I think animals have trouble pinpointing location of loud gun shots. I’ve seen all types of animals after shooting a deer, hog, coyote.

Wind shifted so I hunted after checking cams Sat, place bait Monday am. There were 4 pigs left not 3, I think my bullet deflected when I shot at the small hog in the edge of the brush. They had picked up another small boar, bigger than the last one, shot him 1st in lungs, shot one more of the larger piglets as they ran out of my plot. Confident I hit that one angling away from me at 50 yards in the open. They just keep coming back. I guess they like my corn. Bear came in for about 15 mins. We are seeing very few hog tracks and a lot more deer tracks now. That’s my goal. Will give it a few weeks rest then hunt again. Lots of fun and having a quiet O2 Cool fan really helps with this heat wave.

I am sure that I had a bear check me out the other night when I was hunting, but I did not see it so I did not get confirmation. The noise, grunting, heavy breathing, made me think it was a bear. It was so close, but so dark, that I literally picked up my rifle and put it in my lap, just so I would be ready. Not a pleasant feeling.

Wow... It’s bear breeding season here & think I’ll wait on the full moon for my next hunt. Your adrenaline must have been high. Be careful!

Wondering what kind of bears you have there? I’ve seen video of bears doing that but haven’t had that happen to me yet.

Just shot a big sow (believe it’s a sow), went down on its back kicking with several piglets running away. Could not see the piglets because of tall grass. When I got down there she was gone. Dang!! Using 165 gr SST Tonite & it shoots slightly lower than the 150 Grain. Hit the hog in the scapular just missing the central nervous system. Have not had her on cam before. Anyone else ever seen boars take up with piglets? I’ve seen it twice this year.

I’m not sure of the energy the bullet has at that distance. Hogs are tough critters!!!

It’s enough, but shot placement was 1-2” below the central nervous system. Hope this bullet may go thru 2 hogs if they line up. Lol
200 yds = 2500 FPS & 2380 energy (ft lbs?)

That should have done the job - she's dead, somewhere.
