Texasboars 1BAL's are awesome lights. I got a chance to use some recently fishing down here on the coast. The conditions were bad, storms brewing with winds 30-40mph+, but we still caught fish with them. And, we even had one get blown over into SALT WATER onto ROCKS with no loss of function to the light. The only damage was a very small divet on the aluminum plate. Not even a scratch on the light itself. We recovered the light, hooked it back to the battery, and went back to fishing. Any of the other stage type lights that are commonly used for night fishing here on the coast would have been TOAST. Same for hunting or fishing in the rain. The guys down here on the coast using the stage lights gotta turn them off, put them up during rain. If they don't, when the rain hits them after they've been on a while and have gotten hot they WILL CRACK or explode. With the 1BAL's, fish on into the night, no matter what the conditions. We did it down here in my area, in the worst of conditions with wind, and hard rain. I'm sold on them.

You won't find a better made light for hunting and fishing than Texasboars BAL's.

Yeah, when that light blew over at the TEXAS CITY DIKE, bounced off the granite boulders, and into the bay it caused a few minutes of chaos. Patrick climbed down and fished up the light for us.
Hooked it back up and it worked just fine.
Wished I would've had the video recorder turned "ON" to catch it.
Here's a photo I took while we were fishing.

BTW, we caught some small flounder, a lot of sand trout, and a ton of bull croaker (biggest croaker I ever seen in my life

The lights were bright enough that they not only drew in the fish, but they drew in a human visitor. Out of the darkness this young kid came walking in. He was about 6ft tall, had bright green hair, tattered clothes, and an old beat up fishing rod. He came over by me, and tried to cast. He bait went only a few feet into the water. So, I introduced myself. He said his name was Cameron. And, he had walked all the way over there from 10th street on Galveston Island. He said when he got off the Ferry he could see our lights from way over there, and decided it MUST be a good place to fish. Well, I inspected his reel. There was barely any line on it, and his leader was falling apart. That's all the boy had. So, I filled his reel with some new 20lb Berkley Big Game line. Then I fixed him up with some leaders and tackle. He ended up getting several bites, but only caught one small gafftop. He was fishing with some old cut bait that had been given to him. We talked for quite a while while he was fishing. I learned he was 19, on his own, and had traveled all the way from Ft Worth. The kid was very polite. I was impressed with him. He had guts. Sometimes guts is all you need in this world, along with some blessings from God, and other fishermen. Then, he said he had to leave. He had no flashlight to walk off into the darkness. So, I gave him my headlamp. It was a Walmart special, but Cameron really loved it. He thanked us, and disappeared into the darkness like he had came.

So, if you ever are fishing or hunting somewhere and a 6ft tall, green haired kid, walks in don't be concerned. It's just Cameron looking to make friends.

By the way, our bait consisted of Berkley Gulp Alive shrimp tails and curly tails. Fish simply can't resist the stuff. This trip they seemed to like the green/chartreuse curly tails the best. 1/8-1/4oz jig heads, sometimes a cork, and you're set. It's cheaper than buying shrimp, and then running out of shrimp. You can catch multiple fish on one Gulp.

Thank you Marty for helping a young man out. You will never know how you may have changed Cameron's life with your kindness. Most people would not have taken the time, but you stepped in where help was needed. I actually hope you get to meet him again someday and you all can talk about your venture night fishing on the bay.

Marty, you are a kind man. I can't say I would have done the same and remain honest. I admire you.

Fella's, I can't count the number of times a fellow fisherman has helped me out. Nowadays, kids are caught up in video games, or girlfriends, or school, or getting into trouble. This kid saw the light, LITERALLY saw our light, from the Ferry Landing. And, he decided it must be a great place to fish. Now, this kid was no ordinary kid. He WALKED over from Galveston, carrying his rod and a small plastic bag with his bait in it. He had an old rod and reel with a broken tip, and hardly any line. He just wanted to fish. He was determined to fish. And, he took a leap of faith. He had no fear, or reluctance, to come in and fish with us. To most people he would have been a scary site, with his green hair and tattered clothes. He was tall, over 6ft. I admired him. He gave me a lesson on what's important in life, fishing and friends.

Ya'll, I've fished the Galveston Bay area since 1982. I've done a lot of night fishing. I've used the ever popular stage lights with a generator countless times with friends. And, they work. They put a spot of light on the water, and we catch fish with them. They come with pitfalls though. They get HOT. The generator is LOUD, and requires gas. You deal with long extension cords. If it starts raining you gotta put them up, turn them off, or risk water getting onto the hot lense and cracking it. If they blow over in the wind, they break. Water gets on the extension cord plug, and they can short out. You're dealing with high energy electricity. So, yes they do work, but they are a pain in the behind.

Enter Texasboars BAL lights. No more generator, a savings of over 400.00 at least. No more GAS, the smell and the hassle and fire risk. No more extension cords, trip hazard and shock hazard. No more stage lights that are heavy, get super hot(will burn you, don't ask how I know), and will break easily(I've broken a few).

All you need is a BAL light, a tripod, and a 12volt battery. It's mobile, and can be taken ANYWHERE, even in your boat. It's light weight. It doesn't get hot(you can touch it while it's on). The light is waterproof. We dropped one in the salt water on Texas City Dike, retrieved it from the water, reattached the wires, and went back to fishing. Nearly indestructible. Plus, you can customize your light anyway you want, with different lenses so you can use it for multiple purposes like camping or hunting, plus fishing. And, you can mount it just about anywhere you want, even in a fixed location.

Guy's, a few years ago I would not have thought this type of versatility in a fishing light would be possible. It is now. Texasboars has done what I at one time thought to be impossible. He has produced lights for fishing, that tick off all the boxes for me. They work, and they work well.
