This last hog that I killed is different from all others - his solid red color! All I've killed before were either black, light colored, spotted, or variations in between. But this one is solid red, with long curly hair. He only weighed about 200, but the color, length and curvy hair are just different. I took a picture of him the next morning, in the sunlight, to get the full effect. Dunno how to post it here - just wondering if anyone else has killed a solid red one before - it's certainly my first!

Sounds like a pretty cool hog. You can post pics by uploading your photo to a host site like Imgur. Then you copy the picture URL. Enter the url in the []. And, the pic should show up. It may take a bit of practice posting the pics, but it's not hard.

Thanks, Marty, I'm about as illiterate with technology as I am with hog hunting, lol. I'm sure I could never get it done - one day when my son is here I will get him to walk me through it.

Man, hog hunting has been bad this year, so few, and last week I missed one close range - had smelled me and was hurrying off, I hurried the shot and an old habit showed up at the wrong time - I jerked the trigger! Bet he lost his appetite for corn, though, lol. Then, last night I decided to hunt a cut-over with my 35 Whelen which was sighted in for 40 yards. Good hog showed up at 10 pm about 125 yards, I videoed the shot, cross-hairs on shoulder, and miss!!! Shot the rifle today about that distance & it shot about 12" high and 3" to the right - oh well, I'm about out of 35 Whelen shells so will switch to either 30-06 or 308, something more flat shooting. I love the 100 yard distance though because it means they won't smell me as much as they would at 35-40 yards. Oh well, as they say, "that's hunting"!

I’ve been hunting with my crossbow mostly. So, close shots are the norm for me lately. Good luck with your hunting!
