Was in a gun shop today, west of I-35 not too far north of the state line.

Was talking to the owner about buying some holsters for concealed carry, but...the conversation turned to pig hunting. (imagine that. :D)

He gets guys in all the time, telling about the huge number of pigs coming across the river.

They are seeing them swim across and getting huge groups in their pastures. He was saying 100 or more in some cases.

I started doing homework to get access.

If he can get me some pasture access, I'll make him a deal on leather.

I've never witnessed it, but I understand that hogs are very good swimmers - good luck on getting access.

Lol, I'm always amazed at today's young folks who seem to lack basic knowledge about wild critters. To my knowledge, most wild critters swim. It's for their survival and built in. Probably the worst I seen is an armadillo. But, if it's not a raging flood water sweeping through, they'll make it as well. :)

Good luck on getting access. That will be fun for you. :)

I've seen hogs hit the water numerous times. I used to hunt on a prison farm along the Brazos river. Hogs, and deer, would cross that river to get to our farm crops. It was always fun hearing the splashing and then watching them as they came over the bank, into range.
